Common additional notes may include:

Book processing:

  1. Paste or attach bookplate in center of inside cover (smaller bookplates may go in the upper left corner).  If the endpapers are illustrated, put in upper corner on on one page in.  If there is no bookplate behind the title page, see the Order Assistant for another one that represents the correct fund.
  2. Stamp the back of the title page with the "Trinity College Library ..." stamp, about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the page.
  3. Insert a security strip in the spine of the book.  For handcover books, insert it to adhere to the sewn pages of the spine, not the outside cover.  Use a double-sided strip among the last blank pages for softcover and other books where one cannot easily fit it in the spine.
  4. Place barcode label on cover, centered, about 1 inch from the top.  Adjust placement only slightly to minimized covering a title.

Exceptions:

When done, leave any rush books (blue or green strips) directly with an Assistant Cataloger.  The rest can be left with the designated person for review and sorting.
