Online Mapping

Many faculty members and students may find that online mapping tools fit their needs better than ArcGIS, the mapping software that Trinity supports.  For those wishing to map Census data from the 1940s to the present, we recommend using the online tool, Social Explorer, which allows users to:

Social Explorer also offers time-series maps for New York City and Los Angeles County.  These allow users to follow trends in distributions of races over time.

Those interested in mapping something other than Census data might try the National Atlas Map Maker, which allows you to map data on agriculture, the environment, recent elections, etc.
