Facilities & Equipment
The main Music and Media area is located in room 105 on the first floor of the LITC. It consists of a circulation and reserve desk, individual study carrels, a media seminar room, and four group media study rooms.
Equipment
The facility has many different types of equipment in the carrels and in the group media rooms in order to accommodate the variety of formats in the collections:
Seminar room
The seminar room is intended to be used as a classroom by faculty that anticipate heavy usage of media materials. It is not available as a large group study space. It features surround sound, playback equipment for most media formats, a computer with LCD projector, a full 88-key digital piano, and marker board. The table seats 16. To reserve the room for a course or for video screenings, please contact Amy Harrell x2193.
Multimedia Development Studio
The multimedia development studio contains equipment for creating, editing, and dubbing multimedia. There are image scanners, video and audio editing workstations, and dubbing equipment, allowing students to transfer material into digital form and edit their projects. The studio is located just outside Music & Media Services and open during normal library hours. Staff from either Music & Media Services or Media Technology Services are available for assistance in using the equipment.
