Research Associates Program

An Exciting New Opportunity at the Trinity College Library

Do you love information and research? Do people turn to you for help with research problems because you're the one who will just figure it out? Is the word geek even remotely appealing?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you may want to be a Trinity College Library Research Associate.

What is a Research Associate, you ask? Well, a Research Associate is a highly-trained peer mentor for library research. RAs will guide other students in the process of researching topics in all disciplines and collaborate with research librarians on a variety of projects.

Library RAs will complete Research Methods and Information Resources, a 1/2-credit course in spring semester 2012. The course will be team-taught by research librarians and provide advanced research methods and techniques for guiding others in locating, evaluating, and using information.

Following successful completion of the course, students will be eligible for paid Library RA positions beginning in the fall of 2012. Students may request to renew their RA positions from semester to semester if they wish.

Would you like to apply? Then you'll need to complete an application and submit it along with a copy of your transcript and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member.

Full-time undergraduate and IDP students may apply to the Research Associates Program. Once we receive your application, we will contact you for an interview. Applications are due by October 15.

If you would like more information about this new program, and an application, then contact Erin Valentino. You can email her (erin.valentino at trincoll.edu), message her or stop by her office!
