BOX 4/1 RESIST COLLECTION- "APPLICATIONS" 1974 APPROVED

Box 4/1 of the Resist Collection is comprised of 76 folders from 1974 of applications which were all approved by the Resist Steering Committee during that year. (see below for the complete list of organizations) The organizations are listed in alphabetical order and span most of the fifty states. In some cases the organizations were seeking assistance other than financial, for instance the use of the Resist mailing list to increase sponsorship and awareness for their own group through Resist contributors. Groups were also funded in different ways, an example being the substitution of a request for funding to buy books with the actual books themselves from the personal collection of a Resist member.

Folders are labeled in the standard fashion as used throughout this collection: date of request, name of organization, location, decision and decision date, approval number and the dollar amount given. In several cases as well, there are multiple requests and grants in each folder; organizations with multiple requests are labeled on the folder tab, as well as in the inventory.
