Circulation
The Library has developed circulation policies (PDF) that reflect the College’s fundamental commitments to open and unfettered inquiry, and respect for intellectual freedom. These policies are designed to grant equitable access to the Library’s resources for all members of the Trinity community. To that end, borrowers must accept responsibility for the care of library resources and for the prompt return of borrowed materials.
As a select depository for United States government publications, the Library's Documents Collection is available to the public. For information about visiting the Library, including hours and restrictions, please see: About > Visiting the Library.
For assistance locating materials, or general questions about borrowing materials, please visit or call the Circulation Desk (297-5184).
Interlibrary Loan
Books and photocopies of articles from journals not owned by the CTW Consortium are available via interlibrary loan to students and faculty engaged in research. In general, there is no charge for book requests, but there may be a fee for obtaining photocopies. Failure to return books by the due date will result in loss of Trinity College Library privileges until the item is returned or replacement payment is made according to fees assessed by the owning library. For more information regarding ILL, please see: Research > Requesting Items from Other Libraries.
Reserves
The Library's Reserve program provides controlled access to items that the Trinity faculty have designated as required for courses. Reserve items may be restricted for use in the building. During periods when particular reserve items are being requested by multiple users, staff may limit the number of reserve items that may be charged out concurrently and may limit the number of renewals.
Café
The Funston Café, located on level A, provides an area to enjoy refreshments. We ask that all food remain in the Café, and that only beverages in closed containers be brought into the reading rooms and book stacks.
