Instruction Requests
From First Year seminars to senior-thesis methodology classes, the library’s Research and Instruction Department offers information literacy instruction for faculty and students.
Faculty may request instruction tailored to specific courses or assignments. Instruction librarians meet with the faculty members to review the objectives of their courses and assignments that require instruction sessions. We encourage faculty to schedule library instruction as far in advance as possible. We prefer at least two weeks' time between the date of the request and the date of the instruction session.
Students may also schedule individual research appointments with reference librarians. These appointments often follow instruction sessions.
The library’s instruction room is used for many types of class instruction, including demonstrations and guided research opportunities for students. Evening workshops include sessions on specific resources or research consulting sessions.
